Can you “picture” a warm and cozy winter in your home?
Another winter will soon be upon us, but for the Davy’s family this winter will bring a more energy efficient and comfortable home.
Before having their living room picture window replaced it was sweating and frosting during the long, cold Winnipeg winters. When air warms, it expands which causes it to hold moisture. As it cools down, it contracts until it reaches the saturation point and releases this excess water in the form of condensation, which then if cold enough, freezes. If you’ve ever been near a window like this before you know it’s not pleasant.
The best fix for a problem such as this is to replace older single pane windows with double or triple pane vinyl ones. The recommendation for the Davy’s was just that, to install the Ray-O-Max Heating Power triple pane window, also referred to as our “heating” window. The location of their window is Westward, which means it doesn’t allow for much sun exposure, therefore this was the perfect option.
This will be the Davy’s first winter with their new and improved window, one can only assume it will be a warm and cozy one.
